New York, September 7, 2025: Seventeen-year-old Alena Kovackova (CZE), the 2021 JC champion in the U14 age group, and her younger sister Jana won the doubles title at the US Junior Open with a straight-sets victory over Jeline Vandromme (BEL) and Laima Vladson (LIT). In the semifinals, the sisters from Prague eliminated the German duo Eva Bennemann (JC 24)/Sonja Zhenikova. Other Jugend Cup alumni also delivered outstanding performances at Flushing Meadows: Jamie Mackenzie (GER), the winner of the Jugend Cup 24, reached the semifinals in junior doubles, while Max Schoenhaus (GER/JC 22) and Italian Gabriele Crivellaro (JC 24 and 25) reached the quarterfinals in doubles. In singles, Schoenhaus lost in the quarterfinals to eventual champion Ivan Ivanov (BUL) in a match tiebreak. Julia Stusek (GER), the reigning Jugend Cup champion, also reached the quarterfinals at the premier junior tournament.
